A Hampshire brewery with a passion for quality

Nigel Welsh, previously a director of another successful brewery, decided in May 2009 that there was a need for a local brewer in Hampshire’s market town of Romsey.  Flack Manor Brewery became the embodiment of quality cask beer.  Nigel comments:  “We are using locally sourced ingredients as well as the almost unique method of Double Drop brewing, one of our nation’s traditional methods for producing a real ale.”

Joining Nigel in his passion for quality are Terry Baker and Ann Stantiford; the three of them having a combined total of over 65 years experience in the Brewing and Cask Ale industry.

Flack are committed to the brewing lifecycle, from ‘grain to glass’, in order to deliver the very best ale to their customers.  Their business thrives on excellent supplier relationships; from the best quality local ingredients, casks, sundries through to the publican and ultimately the customer.

Read more about Flack’s brewing ingredients, brewing process, community, memberships and history.  Flack’s quality beer , all brewed using the double drop method of brewing, comprises permament ales – Flack’s Double Drop, Flack Catcher and Hedge Hop.

Seasonal ales include Wolfie-T, Black Jack Porter, Flack Cracker(autumn and winter ales), TPA, Romsey Gold (summer ales) and Union Flack (special occasion).

While there are many Hampshire breweries, Flack Manor has set themselves apart with their particular emphasis on the brewing lifecycle and their concern for genuine ‘provenance’.  The result is that this Hampshire brewery produces ales that are distinctly a Flack Manor brew – look out for the brands in pubs and clubs in Hampshire and surrounding counties.
