We’ve brought home to Romsey a National Gold win for Romsey Gold in bottles from the prestigious BeerX trade event in Liverpool, a national event organised by SIBA. Romsey Gold in bottles won the SIBA regional event in July and as a regional Gold winner, the ale is automatically entered into the national competition. Bottled Romsey Gold won out of 8 regional gold winners in the category ‘Small Pack Speciality Light Beers’. The image shows L-R Nigel Barden from BBC Radio 2, Head Brewer Terry Baker from Flack Manor and Ian Gregory from Anton Paar.
The SIBA Regional Awards for Keg beers were also at BeerX yesterday and we were delighted when Flack’s Gold won Silver for the South East region in the ‘Keg Premium Bitters and Pale Ales category’ amidst stiff competition.
What a landmark of a day! And a true testament to the dedication and energy put into every barrel and bottle of ale and keg beer that leaves the brewery.
This event is so very important for independent brewers like Flack Manor brewery because it’s a way, albeit tough and highly competitive, to gain national recognition. Winning a National Gold for our Romsey Gold in bottles shows appreciation of the heart and soul that we put into our brewing, into all of our ales, without compromise and without succumbing to fads and fashions. We’re proud to bring this accolade back to our home town of Romsey!
