Running to Raise Funds for Bournemouth Heart Club

Who said brewing beer isn’t a healthy occupation?  The Flack team are out to raise funds for the Bournemouth Heart Club this coming Sunday – 17th April, by entering a Flack Running Team for the Romsey Relay Marathon.

Cheer us on in spirit if not in donations (our link for donations is below), particularly if our charity strikes a chord with you.  Any donations big or small would be gratefully received so that we can really contribute to this lesser known local charity; the Bournemouth Heart Club is only one of four centres in the United Kingdom offering rehabilitation to patients following heart surgery. It will also help spur the team on as we’ve been tramping the roads in readiness for the big event (have we?)

Supported by our Team Manager – Ann Stantiford and helped by assistant coach Vicky Blandford – we’re even brave enough (or daft enough) to set ourselves a target and that’s to improve upon last year’s time of 3 hours 39 minutes. We’ll let you know – ice packs and Tubigrips at the ready.

Suffice to say, a pint of Double Drop as post run sustenance may just hold the key.

Virgin Money Giving Team Flack Manor. Thank you for your generosity.

The Romsey Relay Marathon itself is a community event held each year on the Broadlands Estate.  There are in the region of 70 local teams taking part so it has grown to be quite a fund raising event in the area.
